Introduction

Welcome to my personal curriculum vitae. I have started my professional career as a tourist guide in Prague in 1998 and since then, I have developed myself mostly within tourism & hospitality.

During the last 20 years, I have had the opportunity to work for some of the leading companies in the market – like Kuoni, Czech-In, G2 Travel, etc. – and to learn a lot within different branch specializations.

I have lived in Berlin (Germany), am living now in Prague (Czech Republic), and am considering German as my second mother language. I am also used to work in an international environment, communicating with different nationalities and with business partners with different cultural background. It’s not always easy, but it helps me to understand other people and find the best way to conclude businesses on a win-win basis.

Professional Profile

I am experienced in marketing and PR. Within the last 10 years, I have been planning and executing various marketing and PR campaigns on both sides – client and agency. On agency’s side, I have been administrating advertising B2C campaigns for main players (tour operators) on the Czech market, i.e. EXIM, Fischer, Alexandria, Neckermann, etc. On client’s side I have planned, executed and supervised the yearly GNTO marketing campaigns, together with various PR activities (for/with journalists and influencers). Within G2 Travel I was also responsible for inhouse destination marketing (CZ, SK, HU) towards the sales offices in Asia and lately I am also more involved in B2B marketing with MICE tour operators.

The second major sector is travel trade (leisure & MICE). Since 2007 I am in business contact with tour operators/agents, hotels, tourist attractions, restaurants and other business owners in the CEE (Central & Eastern Europe) region, since 2019 also partially from the Middle East. Be it contract negotiation or re-negotiation with hotels/restaurants, acquisition of new tour operators for a destination, selling marketing packages to tourism offices and helping them to conquer a specified market – business negotiation is something I like a lot. And in combination with powerful marketing/PR tools I am happy to help organizations, destinations and business owners to succeed within foreign markets.

2019 – now

Market Manager CEE

Being the market manager in Central & Eastern Europe for the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, it means to develop four markets (Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary) in terms of raising the number of journeys to the Emirate. Along with these main markets, Romania is the upcoming market to be developed.

2017 – 2018

Destination Manager CEE

In the role of a destination manager at G2 Travel, one of the biggest wholesale tour operators in the World, I was responsible for contract negotiation and re-negotiation with restaurants, tourist attractions and other business owners in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. I had also to find and acquire new business partners to deliver best possible services and attractions for clients from Japan and the Far East.

2012 – 2016

Czech Republic Sales and Marketing Office Director

One of the most forming occupations in my career was representative of the German National Tourist Office in the Czech Republic. It was a unique opportunity to develop the Czech market in terms of travelling to Germany – a neigbour country, yet not so well known as a holiday destination like for example Austria.

Personality

I was curious when I have made the personality type test for the first time. I have repeated this after 2 years and surprisingly … I am still an ENFP (Personality type according to Myers-Briggs Type Indicator).

Classic education is one thing I have neglected in my life a bit more than I would like to. I have studied on two colleges in the Czech Republic, but quit both of them before the master degree because of job opportunities I had at the time. But I don’t regret these two decisions. Not taking the opportunity at the time, I would probably haven’t experienced so much more in my life…
